Bio

Born, raised, and educated in the city of Irkutsk in eastern Siberia, I came to the United States in 2005, when I started my graduate studies at the University of Virginia. I am now a lecturer in Russian in the Department of German, Nordic, and Slavic at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where I teach undergraduate courses on the Russian language, the history of Russian culture, the novels of Vladimir Nabokov, and the Russian experiences of queerness.
